It has most certainly been a busy month here. We purchased DSL service form Ontario Telephone Co. last month. Then we started preparations for launching our web site. This involved a lot of fun, and education as we registered our domain, reconfigured our servers, and modified our firewall. Add to this unforeseen hardware failures, and the general mayhem leading up to the holidays, and you'll have the picture about right. We would like to thank Ed Krenzer and the staff of Finger Lakes Technologies Group for their help with some of the technical aspects of this project.
Anyway, at 11:45 PM EST on Friday, December 23, 2005 our site went online. Imagine out excitement as people started visiting our site, imagine our horror when our logs revealed that most of these visitors were attempting to hack our webserver. Most of this activity originated from China, so began the next project, laying our stone in the global firewall against China. We would like to thank Mike from Okean.com for providing an exhaustive list of China's net blocks on his site.
